So, it was recently brought to my attention that Walt Mink will be playing some reunion shows in Boston and Brooklyn this summer. I am, to say the least, surprised and delighted.

Many of my all-time favorite bands have reunited of late, but Walt Mink is particularly near and dear to me because my high school band The Trolmen (named after the subway-advertising law firm of Trolman, Glaser & Lichtman) won the talent show Junior year with a cover of the band’s excellent “Miss Happiness.” Our cover, as you can hear, was markedly less excellent.

(And yes, I am wearing a pair of mens boxers like a bib in the above picture. This was the first and only time I’ve had undergarments of any sort thrown at me on stage.)
